A Portland treasure is in danger of closing its doors. In Other Words is one of the few feminist bookstores still open and the only not-for-profit women's bookstore in the country. If they don't raise $11,000 by the end of December, they will be forced to shut their doors. In addition to selling books and magazines that you can't find anywhere else, In Other Words hosts a slew of community events, like weekly yoga, feminist films and Dirty Queer, an X-rated open mic night. It's worth saving, if only for that. Even if you don't live in Portland. don't you want to support a bookstore with a dirty open mic night?
