Check out Boon!

I love Facebook. I can't believe the people I've been able to reconnect with. It simply amazes me nearly each day. It's such cross section of our lives, huh? I've got friends from pre-school, grade school, high school, college and from my grown-up life all in one nicely organized pool on my computer. I can see how my friends kids are growing and find out what's knew with my exes, all with one stop on the internet.

One of my my recent Facebook joys has been to reconnect with an old friend I met back in high school. Come to find out she and her wife (she came out years ago, too!) just bought and renovated a boutique hotel in California Wine Country. "Boon" (named after their dog) is a resort and spa in Sonoma on the Russian River. Be sure to check it out. It's super modern and has amazing spa offerings. Next time you're in wine country, swing by and visit Boon. Say hello to Crista and her wife, and support our sisters!

A Day Without Gays

A friend of mine sent me this Facebook Invitation (thanks Meesh!) to participate in "A Day Without Gay." Get this: it's a nationwide strike and boycott in support of marriage as a right for all americans on December 10th, International Human Rights Day.

The diretive is clear; here's what you do:

STRIKE! Call in gay. (That just means close your business, call in sick, or take the day off)

How fantastic! I'm going to ring Curve on December 10th and call in gay.

BOYCOTT! Don't buy anything, spend money or support the economy.

On your day off, however, you're not supposed to just fix your leaky faucet (butches) or get a pedicure (femmes and fags), you're suppose to PARTICIPATE! Give back, fight back or help roll back marriage discrimination.

For more, go to http://www.daywithoutagay.org/ to volunteer, petition or protest.

Become a Fan of Lipstick & Dipstick on Facebook!

Finally, we've arrived on Facebook. Personally, I've been whoring around Facebook for some time, catching up with people from my past I thought I'd never ever see again. Facebook is genius and if you haven't signed up yet, here this cattle call. It doesn't take much time and it's very intuitive to navigate. Once you sign up, you can be a fan of ours and keep up to date with all things L & D.

For those of you who are already on Facebook, click here to see our profile page. You have to be a member of Facebook to see it (it's free!).

We've posted a bunch of pictures and videos from our recent book tour, events that we've emceed, photoshoots from the magazine and more!
