Our Friend Kristin Wants to Be Top Guru

Ever want to quit your job, sell your house and travel? Who hasn’t? Our friend Kristin Flickinger, did just that. Now she’s in the running for a dream job with GayTravel.com. And she needs your help.

GayTravel is looking for a North American Gay Travel Guru. Kristin is hot. Don’t believe me? Go check her out. Then vote for her.

You must be signed in to vote, so make sure you create a profile and then activate it by checking your email. To vote for Kristin, Click "Guru" in the upper right hand corner, then "VOTE!" on the left side, then look for her bikini and click on her application. Then click "vote for Kristin" at the top and rate her "5" to show the love. Finally, make sure to "share" and "retweet" at the top. All of these things will help make her the GayTravel Guru!

Here’s the best part: Vote, and then let Kristin know you did and you're entered to win a "tag along" trip with her if she becomes the Guru. She gets the gig, and someone gets to go along for part of it. Spread the word! Checkout MidLeap.com for details.

Thank you all!

Help Our Friend, Dawnie

A beloved friend of ours, Dawnie Grubstein, is battling colon cancer. She is the brightest spirit you'll ever meet and I know that if anyone can beat this, it's Dawnie. Truly an effervescent soul.
Her best friend, Luna Jaffe, wrote a song for her and uploaded it to CDBaby. You can download it and the proceeds go to Dawnie. It's called "You'll Find Your Way."

Check out and buy it today to support Dawnie!

A Salute to the Women in Our Lives

I've written a lot here about my girlfriends, both old and new, and have often brought myself to tears, especially if I'm just getting ready to bleed, recounting our past shenanigans and current ones. I have the best friends in the world and today, I salute them with this video.

Send this to the important women in your life and tell them today how much they mean to you. What the world needs now is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of.

We Ho + San Diego Recap

Lipstick forgot the chords to her camera for their California tour, so I'm just now able to unload them onto my computer. While super short, we had fun in West Hollywood for the 18 hours we were there. Afer our reading at A Different Light (thanks Albert!) next door to East West (home to Shannon Kampa's PLATINUM, a sophisticated women's night on Thursdays), we got to catch up with old friends--my ex and her girlfriend--as well as our publicist Deborah Brosseau with Spinner PR. We had dinner and drinks at the Abbey.

In San Diego, we read at the Rubber Rose, a great sex shop owned by Carly and Leah. What a great sex shop; it's super friendly, cozy and well-equipped for all your needs between the sheets.

When it was all said and done, Dip and I were exhausted. We're glad to be home, but grearing up for more book fun later this month when we kick off our East Coast tour. See the side bar here--UPCOMING EVENTS--on our blog for more details of our stops along the way...

A special thanks to Kimpton for giving us a smoking rate at their gaslamp district property Hotel Solamar. It had a great roof top bar!

We love it when you come up and say hi to us when we're out and about. And we love it even more when you ask us to pose for pictures. (Yes, we're hams!) And we jump out of our seats when you actually send us those pictures.

Here's one we received today from Elita, who we met at Crush at the post L Word party. Thanks for the sugar Elita and we hope you're enjoying the book!

Our Fans Chris & Christy

I met Chris & Christy (via email) before Exes and Ohs was ever aired on TV. But now, every time I see the show I think of them. If you haven't seen Exes and Ohs on Logo, there's a couple named Chris and Kris who are my favorite part of the show. They remind me of so many lesbian couples I know who fall into what we like to call "Lesbian Twin Syndrome."

I wonder if Chris & Christy wear matching sweaters, end each other sentences and have let their hair grow into the same style. When they go shopping for rain coats, does Chris get the blue one and Christy the red, of the same brand and style? Aside from sharing the close to the same name, I have faith that our fans Chris & Christy have better boundaries than that. But there are some of you out there who are dangerously close to becoming lesbian twins. Chances are you don't even see it.

To help you prevent Lesbian Twin Syndrome here are the Top 10 Things Dipstick says Lesbian Couples Should Never Do:

1. Poop when she’s in the bathroom. (ich!)
2. Always invite her to hang out with your friends.
3. Go somewhere or do something with her that you don’t really want to do. (Every once in a while is okay, but don’t make this a habit.)
4. Buy matching outfits.
5. Sell off your Ricky Martin CDs because she doesn’t like him.
6. Share underwear.
7. Share a Myspace page.
8. Share a diary.
9. Speak for both of you, saying things like, “We feel.. We think, etc.”
10. Buy a bicycle built for two.
