Dip and I had a blast on our whirlwind trip to San Fran this weekend. We were in town for less than 24 hours and managed to squeeze in dim sum, an NPR radio interview and emcee a big dyke party for CURVE magazine.
The dim sum was divine at Gold Mountain, the best place in Chinatown. If you like circling carts of Chinese food (dumpling, shumai and chicken feet) then you'll love this place. And if you're Caucasian, you suddenly get a crash course in what it feels like to be a minority.
Next, Marilyn Pittman picked us up and drove us across town to the local NPR radio station. Maryiln is a frickin' riot and hosts the radio show Out in the Bay. She had Dipstick and I both in stitches as we braved rush hour traffic, discussing the pitfalls of long term relationships and how orgasms shoot through the roof during menopause. Apparently they last forever?? We'll be sure to let you know when the interview airs; it will be online after it airs in the Bay Area.
At the crazy party, we sold a ton of books and loved seeing the Pin Up Girls. They were SO sexy. Meow! One of their songs was featured on the L Word this last season. Check them out below:
Covergirl Dan Campbell was also great and smokin' hot. The women went apeshit for her, too. You know how drunk dykes can be... OUT OF CONTROL! The pic below is of us with CURVE's publisher, Frances Stevens (aka our daddy), Dani and Colleen Lee, a stellar editor at CURVE who kicks ass.
A special thanks to Kimton, who hooked us up at the Hotel Triton!
