A few weeks ago I was visiting Seattle and we were wandering around Capitol Hill looking for a place to have a beer.

Although RPlace was closed, we did appreciate the sign on the door. I wonder if it really keeps the homophobes, racists, bigots and assholes out. What do you think?

Apple Announces ipad

Like many of you, I was excited to hear about Apple's launch of the ipad today. I can't wait to get one. I heard about it on MadTV.

Correction

For some reason, I am usually drawn to the "corrections" that appear in my daily paper. Usually someone's name is spelled wrong, or someone was misidentified in a photo. Today's correction made me laugh, though. Here it is:

In a review of HBO's "Every...Day of My Life" in Monday's How We Live Section, the means of attack on Aaron Maldonado was misidentified. He was bludgeoned with a hammer and a pole ax.

The Faceoff :: Sarah Palin + Tina Fey

The GOP Veep Maverick to show up on SNL Saturday night. And it was HILARIOUS! If you missed Sarah Palin's double cameo, you can watch them both below. You have to give Palin props for showing up and making fun of herself. I suppose she had no other choice, but to laugh along with everyone else.

I also wanna give Amy Poehler props for killing that rap, and she's like eight months pregnant!

Political Humor at its Finest

So, Dip and I have been talking about politics a lot lately (who isn't), but last night the political system delivered a gift to the American public and I want to make sure you received it. It came wearing tuxedos--two white bow ties and tails--and thanks to the two stellar political writers who aided Obama and McCain. It arrived just in time; the American public is worn out from the third and final presidential debate the evening before, one that was quite contentious, coming on the heels of the most frightening economic events in our lifetime.

The clips from their speeches at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner (a tradition for presidential candidates to attend) are below. I have to say, McCain is a pretty funny guy. He might have one this one. If their presidential debates had been on The Daily Show, we might have been in trouble!
