I just got wind that Tennessee Valley Pride--which is October 12-19--is holding their first annual Lipstick/Dipstick Pageant. In the pageant, they will be looking for the best femme and the best butch lesbian in the Tennessee area.

Vancouver Part III

Holy hell, what a weekend we have had. Just up now at the crack of 10 and going to try and get some of our wonderful shenanigans down in writing and in pics.

So Saturday night, we had a fantastic BBQ with a whole bunch of friends. It was the grand finale of the Symphony of Fire so we had a Prideful pyro celebration as a backdrop, too. (You can click on any of the pics here to make them bigger.) The party went until 3am and it was a blast. Pattycake whipped up a delicious Greek meal: grilled Greek chicken, spanikopita, Greek salad and mini cupcakes for Minx's birthday.

And then there was Sunday, the big day of homolicious celebration, where everyone is as gay as can be. Where do I even start? We got up and had breakfast with Minx, laughing about the wildness of the night before--who knew 12 lezzies and one metrosexual man could put away so much vodka! We started out at the festival, where we got our groove on early and had our first crack of the crop!

It's hard to know exactly how many dykes woke up this morning with welts on their asses, but I'd imagine the number is in the triple digits. With three of us cruising the party--Assolina Spankaromo, Bootalina Slapacoli, and Bumaccina Whipaletti (see where it all began)--we covered a lot of ass real estate. We even had shirts made with our names on them just so people knew who they were dealing with.

The Chicka was one of the best lezzie parties I've been to (and I've been to a lot lately) because of the awesome venue--BC's old heritage mansion. And there had to have been 1000 women crammed into the old rooms, which were pounding with base from the three dance floors, or outside in the huge, lush, estately garden (see video below). We had such fun! God sure must like gay people because the weather couldn't have been any more perfect. 70 degrees and sunny as an Arizona morning.

After hamming it up--or rather whipping it up--at the Chicka party, we headed to dinner at Bin 941. Yummmmmmmmmmmm! If you're ever in Vancouver, make sure you hit this tiny little gem. At Bin 941, we noshed on lots of yummy tapas and made friends with a hot group of fags. They were armed with squirt guns, and of course were were armed with crops, so there was a big showdown late in the evening which ended up outside. I chased one of the squirting sassy-asses around the block with my crop and came back defeated and soaked.

All in all, good times--no, rather, GREAT times--were had by all and we rang in Minx's birthday (which is today) in style!



Now I'm ready to start detoxing, take a nap and put away crop (well, at least for today).

Vancouver Pride Part II

Did you hear the crack of the riding crop last night? If you were within 100 miles of Vancouver, BC surely you heard the slap of the leather against all the lezzies asses as well as the boom boom base coming from the upper deck dance floor of the Chicks Ahoy party.

The boob cruise was, in one word: CRAZY! The Italian Croppers were in full force last night, Bumacinna Whipaletti and I (Bootiola Slapacoli), following our fearless leader AssolinaSpankaromo. You can see Assolina started out the night by teaching these colorful seafaring dykes a thing of two. After they got wind of the spankings, chicks started to line up. One after one, they bent over the side of the boat and closed their eyes, afraid, but thing of two about S&M. After one crack, they'd lean over even further and ask for more.

Things really got out of control when one lunatic lezzie--after I cracked her ass on the dance floor (she begged for it)--picked me up off the ground with her big burly brute and wrapped my legs around her waist, only to tear my skirt at the back slit, up to the crack in my ass! See photo--I turned the tear around to the front so we could get a good pic. Things got even worse when, waiting in line to pee, the frenetic furry taco diver walked by me, stopped, reached for my skirt and ripped it up even higher. So, about an hour before the cruise docked, I was pretty much walking around and dancing it up in only my g-string. Mom would've been proud.

Today we're hosting a BBQ in honor of Pride and plan on taking it easy so we can save our energy for tomorrow's celebration and Chicka Party, where the Italian Croppers will be out in even fuller force. Seriously, look out ladies! Prepare your bums....

Vancouver Pride Part I

Well, we started last night with a bang for pride weekend here in Vancouver. Or, I guess I should say a spank. Assolina Spankaromo (aka Pattycake) made an appearance last night with her riding crop and made sure everyone was good and ready for pride. Here Assolina Spankaromo is giving this lovely dyke a snap for being a bad, bad girl at our little wine party.

More to come from Assolina Spankaromo and her proteges Bootino Slapacoli (aka Lipstick) and Bumaccino Whipaletti (aka Minx).

We will be making a number of appearances (riding crop in hands) this weekend, so get your bums ready Vancouver lezbots! We'll be whipping you all into shape.

Vancouver Pride!

I'm so excited. The Minx is coming for a visit this weekend for her birthday and it just so happens to be Pride here in Vancouver, BC so, I'm double excited! You can check out gayvancouver.net for more info about all the exciting events. This will be the first Pride (no matter the city) in many years that I won't be working as Lipstick, either on stage or in CURVE's booth and I'm going to paint the town red! We have so many fun things planned--tomorrow night is the Chicks Ahoy boob (er, I mean booze) cruise, where they pack a huge yacht full of 400 lesbos and sail around English Bay for a couple hours. Saturday, we'll check out the festival and Sunday, we'll hit the Chicka - Hot House of Hotties (that's what they call it, no joke) party.

It's sure to be a good weekend, full of colorful stories and shenanagins, some of which I'll share here. Stay tuned for pictures and updates as we get our gay on.

SF Pride Day 2 + 3

Wow! Dip and I had the greatest time this weekend, playing and working here in San Francisco. After a relatively mellow Saturday at the CURVE booth and then kicking it at Dolores Park with 50,000 other dykes (see photo of Dip and I, and the one of our Daddy, CURVE publisher Frances Stevens--you can click on image to enlarge), Dip and I got to bed relatively early to rest of our big day emceeing the main stage at the SF Pride Festival.

The day at the main stage was packed with excitement, not the least of which was meeting Margaret Cho, Peter Paige, Gus Van Sant and Leslie Jordan from Will and Grace. The emcee gig went off without a hitch, despite the fact that Cyndi Lauper was a no show (I thought we'd get hot dogs and warm beer thrown at us) and Charo bailed at the last minute, too. No cuchi cuchi for us.

SF Pride Day 1

Greetings from smoky San Francisco! What a great first day we had in the city by the bay.

Fortunately, the fires have subsided here in the Bay Area, but that doesn't mean there wasn't smoke coming from the myriad lezzie parties that went down last night. We started the night at CURVE's Welcome Reception at the Hotel Kabuki. I'm not sure about the story behind this chicken feather coat Dipstick is wearing below, but I'm sure glad I got this picture of her showing it off.

After dinner and drinks, we headed to Lollipop, an all-girls party right on the water outside the Mission. At this party, in the "cage", we met and chatted with the L Word's Rose Rollins, who is a giant fan of CURVE's. She was super sweet--even though she was being mobbed (seriously) by lezbots with their cell cams and digital cams. Her boyfriend was sweet, too, although I didn't catch his name. He snapped this pic of us. He and Rose had just done a tequila shooter minutes before this shot. On our way out, in typical pride drama fashion, a fist fight broke out in line between two dykes. If I hadn't had one foot in the cab, I would've gone over with my bullwhip and given those lame labias a piece of Lipstick's mind.

We ended the night with three straight guys (I know, kinda weird), who we met in our hotel elevator. On the sidewalk, Pattycake and I ended up having a really interesting conversation (once we convinced him we really were rug munchers) with him about how he and his lezzie sister aren't close and how he can mend their relationship. And just when I thought I could put my lipstick and bullwhip away... He was a really nice guy and I hope he really does reach out to his sister to let her know how much he cares and how who she is is okay.

Dipstick and I are so excited! We've been asked to emcee the main stage for San Francisco Pride on Sunday. This means we not only get to be Lipstick & Dipstick in front of tens of thousands of people (maybe hundreds of thousands), but we get to introduce a stellar line up of people. First, HELLO Cyndi Lauper. And Margaret Cho will come out with the grand marshals and make everyone piddle. (I just peed a little
thinking about it.) Charo--the woman who is famous for her cuchi cuchi and fabously flamboyant ways--will entertain you before we get to celebrate Pride with Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco who is oh-so-dreamy Gavin Newsom and others.

Pride Recap Part I

What a crazy week! Dipstick will be posting about the Pride festivities from the weekend and I'll touch on the great events we had early in the Pride hullabaloo.

Broadway Books Reading
A big thank you to all those dedicated dykes (and two dudes!) who came to hear Dipstick and I read at lesbian-owned Broadway Books. Sally was kind enough to ask us to come read and we're so glad we decided to wrap it up in rainbow colors for the week of Pride. For all you Portland, Oregonians, if you've never been to the adorable Broadway Books, be sure to check it out next time you're in Northeast Portland.

This was the first installment of the new monthly queer reading held every second Wednesday at Portland's Q Center. There was a great turnout that inspired some wonderful readings. After Diane Anderson-Minshall welcomed the crowd, it was kicked off with Sossity Chiricuzio, who read some of her dirty poetry. She is the host of Dirty Queer, a monthly x-rated open mic, where people cum out and read all sorts of sexy, slutty things. Other readers included Jason, who read a short piece combining his two great loves: culinary arts and men. Heather Knight read a surprisingly provocative piece about--of all things to turn you on--Powell's Book Store! It was called Ode to Powell's Books. Marc Acito (photo) and his humorous and colorful writing/performing took the mic next and delivered a wildly entertaining reading from his new book: Attack of the Theater People. Jacob Anderson Minshall also read from contribution to Men Speak Out. Dipstick and I closed the show with a reading from our book and everyone enjoyed Diane's homemade (kinda) cookies when they asked a question during the Q & A.

The most exciting piece of info of the night was the announcement from Kendall, the center's Executive Director, about a $200,000 grant donated to the center that day. The catch, however, is that the center has to match the donation (in fundraising) in order to get it. So, if you feel inspired to give this summer (they have three months to raise the funds), consider this worthy cause!

Reading this Tuesday for Pride

Portlanders, Lipstick & Dipstick will be reading from their new book--Lipstick & Dipstick's Essential Guide to Lesbian Relationships--this Tuesday at Broadway Books. It's in celebration of Pride week.
